Countdown T-57hrs

Cats are gone and guess what - I miss them. For all the trouble they gave us, they are some lovable pets nonetheless.
The house looks like it was hit by a bomb. Australia stuff everywhere. I was hoping we could get it cleaned up for the person who is going to live here while we are gone but I guess that might not happen. Oh well, rent is cheap and hopefully he is not allergic to cats :-)
Training isn't going so well either. I was pretty tired all of last week and my back was bugging me just a little bit. Nonetheless, coach Lynn came out to do some video work. It seems that I am still doing the same things wrong as last time. Well, they say you learn slower the older you get - I can support that!!!! If you care to have a look - here is a small extract (look at the beautiful sunshine):

On Saturday we got blown off the lake by 50km/h winds. So we decided to do some speedy circuit workout that evening at home and BANG - my lower back complete went out. Couldn't stand, sit or lay down without major pain. And it didn't get any better over night. So my planned 2hr long workout got cut VERY short. I managed to go for 8km just using my arms and upper body - but not my legs or lower back as I was supposed to by coach's orders. RATS! Luckily throughout Sunday and a few Motrins later, the back started to get better. When I got up this morning I felt great - until I bent down to pick something up from the floor. BANG - I was stuck in the position I was in. Jeff had a laugh and offered to bring a cane. !@#$%. But I wasn't giving up this time and bent and stretched and rolled around on my swiss ball until the back pain got bearable and I loosened up enough to go for a paddle. I took it easy though during today's morning workout and focused on technique rather than speed. Back did hold up okay. It seems as long as I keep in motion the back stays loose. I am NOT looking forward to sitting on a plane for 15hrs in a bit more than 2 days though. Well I do but my back does not.

That sounds awful!!! Your back, I mean. All fingers and toes crossed that it is better before you get to Australia!
