Not a whimp

Yeah - I finished the 8km run during the Terry Fox event in Burnaby yesterday but it took me till today to recover enough to write about it. Well it wasn't so bad (it was hot and I was going real slow) but instead of sleeping on the sofa for a while afterwards, Jeff had a friend over who wanted to try kayaking. So he took him out in our double surfski and I followed along in my single. The poor guy had never been in a kayak before and surfskis, even stable doubles, are not the easiest to get used to. In addition Deep Cove / Indian Arm was quite choppy yesterday due to it being a beautiful warm and sunny Sunday and LOTS of motor boats and sail boats out making waves. I had fun!!!

And a bit more about our other guests - Sammy and O'Malley are becoming more used to our place. Only drawback still - Jeff has to get up in the morning to feed them since the start scratching on the bedroom door at about 6am at the latest. He comes back to bed afterwards and we have piece and quiet for a few more ours. Once I get up Sammy and O'Malley start begging for food again but of course they don't get any. So O'Malley goes to sleep and Sammy starts exploring. Sammy is definitely the more active cat during the day. She loves our balcony since that's the closest she can get to being outdoors as an indoor cat.

O'Malley on the other hand isn't to be seen until the sun has set. He is hiding in my clothes ALL day long and I don't even see him come out to drink or take a leak -except for feeding time. But at night he is the most social of all cats. While Sammy sleeps in her cat stand (and guarding it so O'Malley doesn't use it), O'Malley curls up with Jeff and I on the sofa and has his head and belly rubbed at the same time.

OHH - it's not even 6pm yet and O'Malley just showed up!!! Guess it's time to feed the cats.
